The Five Sections above represent the general compositional themes that Csorba has explored during the past decade. The images represented in each five galleries includes painting, original printmaking and photography.
Steven Csorba is known for his paintings of sports legends like Wayne Gretzky and Muhammad Ali – and his commemorative works celebrating historical events like the Olympic Games, and famous teams like Notre Dame Football. You can find his paintings in the National Art Museum of Sports, and in other prominent public and private collections.
The layering process and ever-evolving facial appearance (of each original) provide a visual metaphor of my own existence of countless surgeries and changes to my own face. “Our scars have the power to remind us that our past was real, and for me, artistic expression became the ultimate path towards healing, redemption and hope.”
