Something “old” meets something “new” in an attempt to revitalize the flavor of a past era – where the “idealized beauties” were depicted in a way that always left something to the imagination.
The pop art characters and Miro inspired symbols play out the drama of not just survival but hope for something better. Our scars have the power to remind us that our past was real, but artistic expression becomes the ultimate path towards healing, redemption and hope. The welcoming smile of Felix the Cat is treated a al Warhol in different color combinations celebrating the power of texture and color. Csorba forces the viewer to really look at the expression of joy through this interference of tragedy, confusion and chaos.
